Basic Training - Friction Vs. Drag Separation
#31
For those folks using shear pins - how long should they be?  Is 1/4" okay or do you recommend longer?  I'm not sure if it has any influence on shearing vs. not shearing if they are too long/short.

A bit too long is better than a bit too short.  I think they're pretty close in price so I ended up with 1/2" thinking I could trim if needed and it would give me something on the backside to pull out after shearing.  Next size up was 3/4" and that seemed kind of silly.

Thanks, that's about what I was thinking, just looking to leverage the experience of others. ;D
